Benny "Benny Bone" Franklin

Benny "Benny Bone" Franklin, 56, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robyn Brown and Pastor Ron Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Kelley Cemetery with Brian Donley, Les Lovering, Michael Albritton, Wilton Albritton, Kennie Whittaker, and John Staples serving as active pallbearers.

Benny Franklin was born June 27, 1965, in Donalsonville, GA, the son of W. C. & Joyce Whittaker Franklin. He married Irene Heard in 1988, and they made their home in Colquitt. Over the years, Benny worked at Shaw Industries, Memorial Hospital, Franklin Poultry, and also as support personnel for ag pilots in this area. He attended House of Victory.

Benny loved the Lord and cared for others as Jesus did, without conditions or expectations. He enjoyed talking on the telephone and would spend hours checking in on friends and family. Fishing was a favorite pastime and catching fish made it even more fun. Benny's favorite television shows included Andy Griffith, CSI, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, *MASH*, and Hogan's Heroes.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Irene Heard Franklin; his son, Sam Franklin; his parents, W.C. & Joyce Franklin; his siblings, Darren (Jennifer) Franklin of Colquitt, Mike (Susan) Pepper of Lake Seminole, Cindy (Les) Lovering of Colquitt, Melissa Franklin of Donalsonville, Dealana (John) Staples of Franklin, NC, and Dawne Bailey of Panama City, FL; and a host of extended family.
