Beverly Thompson

Beverly Cooper Thompson, 76, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Brooks and Rev. Marty Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with her grandchildren serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com. Beverly Jane Cooper was born August 27, 1947, in Winter Garden, FL, the daughter of Boyce & Grace Kannon Cooper. After high school, she earned a bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University. Beverly taught at Bainbridge Christian School, West Bainbridge Middle School, and retired from Bainbridge College. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church but played the piano and served as Sunday School teacher for over 40 years at several churches in our community.

Beverly was the epitome of "quiet disciple". Her life was the ministry of a soft spoken, humble servant always putting others first. She was dedicated to her family and church, but also the community. Beverly volunteered at West Bainbridge Elementary School to assist students with reading and learning sight words, facilitated BINGO at local nursing homes, and shared her gift as a pianist for weddings and funerals. Her children describe her as "godly and closest to perfect" remembering the sacrifices she made for them and others throughout the years. She gave her best in every situation, including meals. Every meal was made from scratch with love.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer Thompson Powell (Todd) of Bainbridge, Page Thompson Grimes (Eddie) of Colquitt, Roxanne Thompson McNair (Greg) of Climax, Josh Thompson of Columbus, NC, and Adam Thompson (Tina) also of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Seth, Hannah, Grace & Cody, Dax, Lex, Dallis, Lola, Corbyn, Beau, Drew, Gunnar, Allie, and Landry; her great-grandchildren, Khloe, Jordan, and Carolina; and her siblings, Christy Ammerman (Bruce) of Ashville, NC and Allison Jackson (Paul) of Winter Garden, FL. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her grandson, Dylan.
