William Hiram Nunnery, Jr. was born January 12, 1946, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of William & Clyde Moody Nunnery. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was Baptist by faith.
Bill returned to his hometown where he became a master with car body work. Nunnery's Paint & Body was the place every dent and ding could be taken care of. Bill's work was second to none, and his eye for detail earned him a position as an insurance adjuster for several years. He enjoyed the solitude of quail farming, but nothing compared to the peacefulness he felt working in the shop.
Family was the cornerstone for Bill. He believed in tough love, hard work, and providing for his family. Bill's unwavering love will be remembered in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Carrie N. Green (Don), William H. Nunnery III (Nikki), Terri Swicord (Larry), and Sherri Langley (Teck); his grandchildren, Peyton & Stephanie, Haley & Hank, Timmy, Jim & Brooke, Rachel & Steven, Jonathan, and Greg & Jenny; and his great-grandchildren, Bo, Miles, Briggs, Goldie, Ava, Carra, Linkyn, Jansen, Kynleigh, and Jeffrey. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wives, Kay Rooks Nunnery and Gwen Palmer Nunnery, and his sister, Sharon Phillips.
