Carl M. "Bud" Clements, 80, of Faceville, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 29, 2022, following a long illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Recovery United Methodist Church with Pastor Charlie Boyd, Rev. Jean Watson, and Hospice Chaplain Twilla Bowls officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Recovery United Methodist Church, 307 Recovery Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Bud was the son of Carl and Maude Clements and was born in Chesterfield, MO. He resided in Spiceland, Indiana for many years until moving to Georgia in 1981. Bud was a self-employed contractor and electrician for many years. He worked for the Corps of Engineers and Industrial Air, as well as Deetz Electric while in Indiana. Bud was a 32 degree Master Mason where he served Lodge #487 and was honored by his lodge for his works. Bud was the Worshipful Master while serving the Faceville Lodge. He was active with the Bainbridge Shrine Club where he hauled children to and from Tampa to the Children's Hospital. Bud was a member of the Faceville WOW Lodge #883 for many years and the Faceville Community Club. A member of the Recovery United Methodist Church, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Methodist Men's organization and also a Cub Scout Pack. He assisted in construction of a nursery in the church, picnic tables, and playground equipment.
Bud loved racing which he did for a short while when he was younger. He was an avid Earnhardt, Sr. fan and loved NASCAR races. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Monger Clements; his children, Carl Gene Clements of New Castle, IN and Tammy Jo Lester and her husband, David, of Muncie, IN; his grandchildren, Meghan & Lusion, Melissa & Conner, Lanna, and Brock Lewis; his great-grandchildren, Trinity, Maciah, Rielyn, Evan, Everly, and Fulton; and several nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Sue Cutright, Betty Priest, Jo Rigney, Gene Clements, and Claris Clements.
