Rodney Carroll Jones was born February 8, 1948, in Augusta, GA, the son of Ed and Sarah Lunsford Jones. He was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1966. In 1968, Carroll married Judy Yates, and they made their home in Brinson. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Carroll was a small business owner known for his strong commitment to customer service and his unwavering integrity. He always went above and beyond for his customers and those in need, even when it came at a personal cost. Carroll was devoted to Jones Mobile Homes and could often be found at his office whenever it was open. Serving his customers for over 40 years was a strong thread in his life’s tapestry.
Growing up on the farm, Carroll did his share of everything. Later, his CB radio handle was “Corn Shucker”, and raising cattle kept those memories close to his heart. Carroll was a dedicated family man who treasured time with those he loved.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Judy Yates Jones; his children Bo Jones (Ginger), Ed Jones, Jennifer Jones Spooner (David), and J.W. Jones (Gina); his grandchildren, Ty, Carah, Luke & Ellie, Britt & Alexis, Jake, Emily, Aida, Maddox, and John Willis; his great-grandchildren, Willow and Wyatt; and his siblings, Linda Cooper, Johnny Jones (Elayne), Joy Jones, Fran Hollingshed (Tim), and Don Jones. In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Briar.
The Jones Family extends sincere gratitude to Angie, Shannon, and the staff of Georgia Hospice Care for their kindness and compassion.
