Charles Gary Hollis

Gary Hollis, 81, of Jasper, GA, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper, GA.

Gary was the son of Joseph R. Hollis and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley W. Catledge. He was a 1959 graduate of Bainbridge High School and attended the University of Florida where he served as President of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a Certified Public Account and worked with Wesley Catledge and Company while in Bainbridge.

He served as President of the Bainbridge Rotary Club and was a member of the Bainbridge-Decatur Co. Jaycees. Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Gary was proceeded in death by his parents and his brothers, Col. Don Hollis and Marvin L. Hollis.

Survivors include his son, Charles Gary Hollis, Jr. and his wife Meghan Hollis of Jasper, Georgia; his daughter, Sandy Hollis Lee of Powder Springs, Georgia; and 2 grandchildren, Ellie Hollis and Jeffery Lee; his brothers, Wayne Catledge of Orlando, Florida, Terry Catledge of Tallahassee, Florida ; and his sister, Gail Maxwell of Maitland, Florida.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
