Chris was a man whose faith, love for family, and kindness were evident in the way he lived each day. He attended Eldorendo Baptist Church and allowed the fruits of the Spirit to guide his words, actions, and the way he treated others. His faith was more than something he talked about; it was reflected in the way he lived and cared for others.

Family was very important to Chris, and he treasured the time they spent together. He had a way of making people laugh and bringing a little fun to just about any occasion. He was a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoyed watching and playing baseball and softball. He loved cooking on the grill, but his talents didn't stop there. Heaven was in the kitchen for Chris, and he never knew how to cook just a little. A meal at his house was always a feast, with plenty to go around.

Survivors include his wife, Deidra Harrell Stephens; his children, Avery Stephens (Savannah), Lilly and Luke; his siblings, Annette Tabor (Larry), Jannette Tabor, Sue Norman, and Melba McKinnon (Carl); and a host of extended family. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol & Fern Kent Stephens, and his brother, Don Stephens.
