Daniel LeRoy Long II

Daniel LeRoy Long II, 56, of Climax, GA, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026.

Daniel LeRoy Long II was born December 21, 1969, in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of Daniel & Rebecca Ramey Long. Following his high school graduation, he enrolled in truck driving school and spent decades as a long-distance trucker. Daniel was Baptist by faith.

Daniel claimed residence the majority of his life in Florida, recently relocating to southwest Georgia. He loved living in what he described as “the country” and exploring the woods. The Suwanee River was his favorite place to fish. Daniel never tired of being on the road and considered every trip a new adventure as he took in the sights of every corner of the United States.

Survivors include his partner, Beth Thompson; his mother, Rebecca Long; his sisters, Glenda Hart, Tammie Long, and Samantha Cox (Joe); and his cousin, Ron Thoreson II. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Dan Long.
