David A. “Sonny” Williams, 84, of Climax, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
Sonny was originally from Central Florida and made Southwest Georgia his home more than 20 years ago. A Christian by faith, he was a man who could turn his hand to just about anything. He worked in the citrus industry and enjoyed carpentry, especially working with wood and making things with his hands. He also had a talent for sewing and quilting, making everything from throws to pot holders. There wasn't much Sonny couldn't figure out how to do once he set his mind to it.
He was a true cowboy who loved riding horses. Sonny enjoyed country and gospel music and spent many weekends watching the RFD Channel. He and his family traveled across the United States in their RV, seeing new places and enjoying the open road. Time spent with his children and grandchildren was among his favorite things, and he treasured the moments they shared.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl Lynnette and Cory Williams; his grandchildren, Tiara & Brian, Chynna, and Dacia; his great-grandchildren, Darren, Danielle, and Tesla; and his siblings, Carolyn Campbell, Allafaye Taylor, James Williams, Randy Williams, and Rita Ray. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sherry Williams; his son, John Graham; and his sister, Shirley Carver.
