Deborah David was born May 14, 1950, in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Edgar & Aileen Sims David. After high school graduation, she spent some time on the Georgia State campus where she realized the world was her oyster. From there rich stories and a lifetime of memories began. Deborah was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

An artist in every sense of the word, Deborah expressed herself through needlepoint canvas artistry and sewing, always finding beauty in color, texture, and detail. Her creative spirit was matched by her curious mind, and she was an avid reader who never missed the chance to get lost in a good book. Living and working in Nantucket created a place in her heart cherished for its beauty and calm: the perfect setting for a story, the perfect landscape for a painting, and the perfect idea for a getaway, always wooing her back.

Deborah had a deep love for horses and found great joy in riding, embracing the freedom and peace that came with time spent outdoors. Wherever she went, she brought laughter and light, often serving as the life of the party with the perfect choice of music for the occasion.

Known for her kind heart, Deborah was a wonderful caregiver who gave selflessly of herself, offering comfort, patience, and unwavering devotion to those in her care. Her gentle nature extended to her beloved cats, who held a special place in her heart.

Survivors include her children, Alexander David Halimeh (Mary Bea), Katherine Olivia Odom (Kyle), and Savannah Leigh Reeves (Lincoln); her grandchildren, Aiden, Cullen, and Anna Sims; her brother, Douglas Edward David (Susan); her cousin, Jenny Herring; her partner, Juan Gomez; as well as a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by her brother, George David; her cousins, Charles Sims and Sue Hollis; and her dog, Harlow.
