Dorothy Ann Brock

Dorothy Brock, 81, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Brock Cemetery with Rev. Tim Dean officiating.

Dorothy Ann Perkins was born July 20, 1941, in Cairo, GA, the daughter of Newton & Tullulah Daugherty Perkins. She spent her life in Southwest Georgia working as a nurse for Drs. Holley, Walker & Starling and later retiring from the United States Postal Service. She was Baptist by faith.

Dorothy was the backbone of her family which meant her way or the highway. She did not mind giving directions or sharing her opinions. Any task or project was expected to be completed immediately with the thought "what were you waiting on?" Thrift stores and estate sales satisfied her itch for a bargain. Dorothy enjoyed working in her yard, fishing, and collecting coral at the beach. She loved to rearrange things and would whip out a can of spray paint for a fresh look in a minute.

Survivors include her children, Cathy McConnell of Bainbridge, Scotty Blanchard, Sr. (Jeanie) of Sumner, and Amy Salter (Weyman, Jr.) also of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Chris, Scotty Jr. & Lauren, Haley & Drew, and Erin & Logan; her great-grandchildren, Jake, Jax, Jenny, Joanna, and Kaylynn; her sister, Tonya Mills; and her canine companion, Dolly. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Brock, and her sister, Eleanor Gonzalez.
