Ellen D. McKenzie

Ellen D. McKenzie, 87, of Dadeville, AL, formerly of Albany & Bainbridge, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Margaret Ellen Durham was born April 16, 1939, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of John & Neta Allen Durham. She earned her bachelor's degree from University of Georgia and a master’s degree from Albany State. Ellen taught at Oaks Academy in Brinson and for 15+ years at Dougherty County Schools.

Ellen is survived by her sister & caregiver, Jane D. Anthony of Dadeville, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Stuart McKenzie III and John Pryor McKenzie; and her sister, Ann Gunsallus.

A private memorial service will be held at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Oak City Cemetery.
