Grace Lucas

A special soul, an amazingly strong woman, Grace Lucas, 77, of Lake Seminole, formerly of Lafayette, LA, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Grace was born May 3, 1948, in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of Mickey & Molly Jackewicz Lucas. Her life was quite challenging though it seemed she had nine lives as she amazed others with how much she could do, move, and endure. She was fiercely loyal, a tad stubborn, sweet & sour, always down for an adventure, constantly cracking jokes and making funny faces causing her great-grandsons to erupt in laughter. Grace loved to travel, especially to the beach. Her favorite place was home where she spent time sewing, dancing, and caring for her beloved dogs, Alex & Bella. The children, grandchildren, great-grands, and Louisianna family knew they were loved beyond measure. Every child encountered a little something making each one feel one-of-a-kind special. Her pleasant demeanor in spite of obstacles set the bar high for how to love well.

Survivors include her children, Patti & Don Fabian; her grandchildren, Jessica & Will and Jamie & Melissa; her great-grandchildren, Liam, Luke, and Logan; her mother; Molly Jackewicz Johnson; and her siblings, Marlene Lucas and Raymond Lucas. Grace was preceded in death by her father.
