Gwen C. Powell, 65, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Black officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Gwendolyn Christine Powell was born June 25, 1961, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Harvey and Christine Haire Powell. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1979 and was manager of KFC for several years.

Gwen was a quiet woman who had a style all her own. She was always dressed to the nines, with her hair fixed and her nails done. Gwen loved Coca-Cola never turned down a little something sweet especially candy. Family gatherings were some of her favorite times. She enjoyed being around the people she loved and making memories together. Gwen’s quiet nature and simple pleasures were part of what made her special.

Survivors include her brothers, James Powell, Ricky Powell, Billy Powell, Mickey Powell, and Tim Powell; her sisters Josie Ann Powell and Patricia Powell Bryars; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Christine Haire Powell, and her siblings, Steve and Kent Powell.
