Jace was the very definition of a gentleman. He was a devoted son, truly “the best son ever,” whose kindness, respect, and steady presence brought comfort and pride to his family every day. He possessed a quiet strength and maturity beyond his years, always willing to lend a hand whenever and wherever it was needed.
A proud member of Bainbridge High School JROTC, Jace lived out the values of leadership, service, and integrity. Among his friends, he was a natural protector and guide, often described as the “dad” of the group, someone others leaned on for wisdom, reassurance, and encouragement. (His friends were so serious about his role in their lives, they gave Jace gifts at Father’s Day.) He looked out for everyone, made sure no one was left behind, and carried himself with compassion and honor.
His passing leaves an ache that words cannot fully express, but his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his strong character, and the light he brought into the world.
Survivors include his mother, Amber Lynn Yerkes; his grandparents, Tina Emmons, Eric Yerkes, and Alan Emmons; his great-grandmother, Virginia Yerkes; his aunts & uncles, Luke Emmons, Taylor Emmons, Justin Yerkes, Alex Emmons, and Brian Emmons; and his cousins, Aly Yerkes and Kylie Yerkes.
Service will be held at a future date
