Jane Ingram was born January 20, 1932, in Barney, GA, the daughter of William Lee & Beulah Wingate Ingram. She was a graduate of Morven High School and earned degrees in education from Georgia Southwestern and Valdosta State College. Jane taught school in Brooks and Lowndes Counties, as well as on military bases in Taiwan during her husband’s military career. She traveled the world with him and carefully documented their adventures through photographs.
Jane was a member of Enterprise First Methodist Church. She was always active in her church and willing to serve wherever she was needed, including on numerous committees and as a Sunday School teacher for 65 years. Her faith was matched by strong character and integrity. One of ten children, Jane was known for being stubborn, a little sassy, and never one to keep her opinions to herself.
For 25 years, Jane lived on the family farm, where she did her share of the farm work. She devoted years to caring for and driving her father wherever he needed to go. A lifelong learner, Jane was an avid reader who went through a book or two every week. She believed in looking her best and was always dressed to the nines. Jane was a loving mother who took great pride in her family.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen Webb (Lisa) and Ross Webb (Sarah); her grandchildren, Josh, Lilly Ann, and Jacob; and her great-grandchildren, Cadence and Delta. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Cooper King; her daughter, Jean Webb Blackburn; her grandson, Lee Webb; and her siblings, Jack, H.B., Ruby, Grace, Ethel, Betty, Ann, Hazel, and Louise.
