Jerilyn Jane Huenink Meadows was born on July 10, 1939, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Christopher and Edith Borland Huenink. She grew up in Lincoln, sharing her love with her beloved dog Peggy and her lifelong best friend, Liz. From kindergarten on, Liz and her husband George remained among her dearest and most cherished friends.
After high school, Jane married the love of her life, Ronald C. Meadows, and together they raised five children—Annette, Allyson, Pamela, Ronald, and Daniel. Jane was a devoted wife and mother, always placing her family at the center of her world. As a military wife for 31 years, she supported Ron as he served his country with pride while she remained steadfast in her motherly duties and faith. Their life together was full of love and adventure, taking them from Lincoln, Nebraska, to England, and later back to America. For more than 30 years they made their home in Inverness, Florida. They were happily married for sixty-three years.
Jane's love for the Lord was evident in her daily life. A faithful member of Attapulgus Church of God, she served Him with her musical gifts as a choir director in several churches over the years. Her passion for music began early when she was first-chair trombonist in her high school orchestra.
Jane could light up any room with her infectious smile and contagious laughter. She loved her family deeply and took great joy in celebrating birthdays and holidays; she never missed sending a birthday or Christmas card. Her home was always open, and she never let anyone leave hungry—Grandma Jane didn't know the word "no." She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and seeing them always brought a smile to her face.
Jane also loved animals, shopping, and simple pleasures like coffee and ice cream—sometimes both at once. She enjoyed sports and rarely missed her favorite television shows: The Waltons, Wheel of Fortune, and The Price Is Right.
In September of 2023, Jane made Bainbridge her home.
Survivors include her children, Annette Meadows; Allyson & Jason Savana; Pamela & Tim Wickman; Ronald C. Meadows; and Daniel A. Meadows; her grandchildren, Teresa & Steve, Andrea & Aaric, Kaylee, Patricia, Dennis & Alissa, Daniel & Sonya, Alana, Kyle & Marisa, Christine, and Elizabeth; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald C. Meadows, and her sister, Meridith Rae Hughes.
