Janie Cinderella “Cindy” Whiddon, 81, of Recovery, passed away April 18, 2026.

The funeral service will be held at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Tim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery.

Janie Cinderella Cayson was born March 13, 1945, in Bristol, FL, the daughter of Eddie Lee Cayson & Minnie Faircloth Cayson. She was a graduate of Liberty County High School and earned a certificate in cosmetology. Cindy retired from Florida Highway Patrol and attended Sylvania Methodist Church.

Cindy was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Known affectionately as the “boss of everyone,” she carried herself with a spunky, feisty spirit and a quick wit that kept those around her both laughing and in line, especially Bill. A true spitfire, she brought energy and personality into every room she entered.

She began her working years as a beautician, where she not only styled hair but built lasting friendships. Cindy loved gathering people together, whether around a card table or at one of her many thoughtfully planned parties. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she delighted in creating celebrations filled with joy, tradition, and togetherness.

In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Cindy also had a deep love for New Orleans, embracing its rich history, vibrant culture, and unmistakable charm.

Survivors include her children, Willam K. Victory (Joy), Ricky Whiddon (Jackie), and Caroline Bush; her grandchildren, Austin & Kayla and Jason; her great-grandchildren, Cayden, Bryton, Lea, Harley, Isabelle, Willow, Hazel, Ivy, and Graceon; her close cousins, Judy, Frances, and Fred; her sister- and brother-in-law Jean and Jack Whiddon; her special friends, Ralph & Joan Hickey; and her caregiver and adopted daughter, Ashley Griffiths. In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William C. “Bill” Whiddon; her son, Eddie Victory; and her brothers, George Cayson and Larry Cayson.
