John Michael Hill was born April 23, 1963, in Donalsonville, GA, the son of Johnny & Faye Loyless Hill. He was a graduate of Seminole County High School, Class of 1981. John married the love of his life, Sue Barber, in 1991. He served customers throughout Southwest Georgia as branch manager at Peoples Loan Co. John was a Christian by faith.

Known as "Big Big" to his grandchildren, they were truly the center of John’s world. He loved aggravating them, teasing them, and keeping things lively, but there was never any doubt how much he loved them. In fact, John made sure you knew he loved you too.

He enjoyed cheering on FSU, mowing the grass (even if he occasionally forgot to put oil in the mower), and firing up the smoker. John never turned down a good meal. He also took great pleasure in pushing Granny’s buttons, a pastime that kept life interesting, knowing that when Sunday rolled around, she would still have him a place set at the table.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sue Barber Hill; his children, April & Russell Floyd and Alison & Josh Daniel; his grandchildren, Bailey, Ryder, Lorelei & Reid; his siblings, David Hill (Alane), Patrick Hill (Karen), and Meri Hill; his mother-in-law, Granny Ruby Barber; and a host of extended family. John was preceded in death by his parents.
