John L. "Jack" Joyce, Jr.

John L. “Jack” Joyce, Jr., 78, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Sam Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

John Lawton Joyce, Jr. was born July 22, 1947, in Spartanburg, SC, the son of John & Lucille Southard Joyce. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame and worked as a certified public accountant until his retirement. Jack was Catholic by faith.

The great state of Texas was Jack’s home for most of his adult life. He moved to Bainbridge nearly a decade ago to be closer to the family he adored. He was the kind of man who welcomed you with a grin you had to earn, a perfectly delivered one-liner, and a hug that said everything he didn’t always put into words.

Jack loved Notre Dame football with a loyalty that never wavered, win or lose, he was all in. Sports of every kind caught his attention, but golf was his true escape.

Off the course, he had a soft spot for good food and an even softer spot for anything sweet. He enjoyed reading, dancing, and turning an ordinary day into a good time. Give him ‘80s rock n’ roll, a plate of something delicious, and people he loved, and he was right where he wanted to be.

Behind his dry sense of humor was a man with a big, generous heart. He showed love through presence, quietly giving more than he ever asked for in return. Being with his family wasn’t just important to him; it was the center of his world.

Survivors include his sister, Alita Joyce; his sister-in-law, Gloria Black Joyce; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Edmond Joyce and Lawrence Joyce.
