Kerry Hugh Chandler was born May 22, 1952, in Atlanta, GA, the son of Hugh & Winnie Reeves Chandler. He was a graduate of Chamblee High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Kerry moved south in the early 90s and retired as a mechanic with Chandler Custom Contracting. He was Baptist by faith.

Some people describe themselves as "a Jack of all trades, master of none". This did not apply to Kerry on all accounts. He was indeed a "Jack of all trades" but was a master mechanic and painter. He was enamored with Native American history and held quite a collection of arrowheads. Kerry enjoyed exploring nature, fast "cars" (most notably his factory original but definitely souped-up Chevy S-10), and old rock 'n roll & blues. Cats and dogs seemed to migrate to Kerry knowing his nature was to nurture.

Survivors include his siblings, Greg Chandler (Glenda) of Talking Rock, GA, Jennifer North of Loganville, GA, and Penney Haney (Tim) of Dunwoody, GA; and his nieces and nephews, Robert, Steven, Tiffany, Tabitha, and David. Kerry was preceded in death by his parents.
