Martha Cross Hall

Twenty-three short days after the love of her life passed, Martha Cross Hall joined him by tossing off her earthly body.

Martha was a cherished daughter to O.M. & Marjorie Cross, loving sister to Seney Styles, devoted wife to Charles E. Hall, and compassionate mother to William E. Hall, Mark E. Hall, and Obediah E. Hall. She was a sweet grandmother to Wayne E. Hall, Jonathan E. Hall, Savannah D. Duke, and Caleb Duke. She was a tender great-grandmother to Charlotte D. Duke.

Through the years, Martha had many trades, but she thrived best when her title was that of homemaker. She cared for her three sons and tended to the household duties making sure when Charles returned home a delicious, hot meal was prepared and waiting. Martha stood by Charles as he served overseas, often writing her congressmen when there was trouble with the Navy pay disbursement. Martha was known for her talents in the culinary arts and the kindness she displayed for all those she met.

Martha leaves behind two sons, Mark E. Hall and Obediah E. Hall; her daughter-in-law, whom she considers like her own, Suzetta Hall; her grandchildren, Jonathan E. Hall, Savannah Duke, and Caleb Duke; and most of all, her great-granddaughter, Charlotte Duke. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death her son, William Earl Hall; her sister, Seney Cross Styles; and her grandson, Wayne Edward Hall.

Martha will be loved and missed but will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved her. Charles and Martha are now reunited, never to be separated again.
