Melissa Dawn Williams, lovingly known as “Missy,” passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 49, in Birmingham, Alabama. Missy fought many battles with her health beginning at just 9 years old, showing strength and courage throughout her life.
She was born on July 31, 1976, and was the cherished daughter of Katherine Elaine Williams and Larry Ray Williams. Missy was the apple of her parents’ eyes and the greatest joy her mama ever had. She brought light, love, and laughter into the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was a 1994 graduate of Miller County High School and a faithful member of Southwest Baptist Church.
Missy worked at Dr. Aric Aldridge’s office and also at Memorial Hospital and Manor, where she was appreciated for her kind heart and gentle presence. In later years, her health issues made it necessary for her to stay home, but she continued to remain close to the people she loved.
Missy treasured her family and friends and always made time for the ones she held dear. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, shopping, and simply being surrounded by those she loved most. Missy was known for her warm smile, her sweet spirit, and the joy she brought into so many lives.
Missy will be remembered forever for her loving heart, her kindness, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
Missy is survived by her aunts, Maryanne Cleveland Godwin (Monroe Godwin), Betty Jean Cleveland Waddell, and Linda Williams, and a host of cousins who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry & Katherine Cleveland Williams.
