Norma Jean Heard Wacaser, 90, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Marty Anderson and Pastor Stanley Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with John Cawvey, Arthur Chestnut, Ted Martin, Lee Putman, Angel Rosa, and Billy Wilson serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 2861 Spring Creek Road, Brinson, GA 39825.
Norma Jean Heard was born October 10, 1935, in Bainbridge, GA to Ellie & Ruby Jewel Atkinson Heard. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1953. She married Curtis Wacaser in 1952, and they made their home in SWGA. Norma retired as Field Office Manager from the Georgia Department of Labor. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Johnny & Sharon Wacaser; her granddaughter, Leigh Ann & Nic; her great-grandchildren, Paxton & Grayson; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Curtis Wacaser; her son, Timothy Dale Wacaser; and her siblings, Oren Heard, Carl Heard, Van Heard, Hazel Wilson, Voncile Clark & Lottie Cross.
The Wacaser Family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Georgia Hospice, especially Kelly Haire & Danny Stephens, and her daily caregivers, Pearl Bradley, Angie Brown, Irene Franklin, Emma Frazier, and Nancy Ingram for their kind and compassionate care for over six years.
