Pauline Cannon Lovett was born August 3, 1935, in Valdosta, GA, the daughter of Rob & Sunshine Cannon Lovett. She was a graduate of Cook County High School and attended Valdosta State College. Polly married the love of her life, Charles Tyson, in 1955, embarking on a lifetime of adventure. She served as office manager and resident “mother” for the medical practice for Drs. Dean Burke & Don Robinson. Polly was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Hilda Byrd Sunday School Class.
Polly was a people person. She loved all kinds of people all the time. Her gentle demeanor and loving spirit made her approachable often resulting in long term relationships with people she may not have met otherwise. She helped behind the scenes, never seeking acknowledgement or praise.
Though she was active with her work, church, her Sunday School class, and friends, Polly always prioritized her grandchildren. Taylor & Mayson were the light of her life. She enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting, and knew her way around the kitchen like a master chef. Polly could cook most anything, but her fried chicken was delightful.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Charles Tyson; her children, Charles Todd Tyson and LeeAnn Tyson Colon; her grandchildren, Taylor & May and Mayson; her sister, Elaine Spencer; and a host of extended family. Polly was preceded in death by her parents.
