Piero Todaro was born February 21 ,1942, in San Cipirello, Sicily, Italy, the son of Calogero & Antonietta Todaro. He immigrated to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and built a life defined by dedication to his country, his passions, and those he loved. He proudly served in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6). Piero was Catholic by faith.
His military career reflected the discipline, resilience, and deep sense of duty that defined his life and were a lasting source of pride. Though very private, Piero could command a room’s attention. His less than private life included acting in the Italian film, The Leopard, in the 70s and singing karaoke.
A natural athlete, Piero found joy and purpose in movement. He was an avid runner who pushed himself to extraordinary limits, completing 100-kilometer races with determination and grit. Whether running long distances or cycling for miles, he embraced athletics not just as a hobby, but as a way of life. His energy and commitment inspired those around him and stood as a testament to his enduring spirit.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mirella Todaro of Pisa, Italy; his daughter, Elvira of Florence, Italy; and his sister-in-law, Lynda Todaro. In addition to his parents, Piero was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Philip Todaro.
