Rex H. Canady, Jr.

Rex. H. Canady, Jr., 78, of Lake Seminole, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Rex Hoyt Canady, Jr. was born November 2, 1947, in Dothan, AL, the son of Rex & Hazel Windsor Canady. He was a graduate of Dothan High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from the City of Dothan/State of Alabama Wastewater Treatment. Rex attended Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church.

Memories of his high school football days carried right into the present. Rex and Diane enjoyed watching football together, which included only a little armchair coaching. Lake life proved to be just what Rex expected. He appreciated everything about “beautiful Lake Seminole” from the fishing & hunting to the spectacular sunsets.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Jonas Canady; his children, Brian Canady (Tabitha), Brittany Canady, and Scott Jonas (Patti); his grandchildren, Gage, Caleb, Jordan, Leslie, Lanie, Kyle, and Jake; and his great-grandchildren, Leilah and Taliyah. Rex was preceded in death by his parents.
