Richard L. "Rick" Harter

Richard L. "Rick" Harter, 54, of Brinson, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel "Preacher" Harris officiating. Interment will be private.

Richard Lawrence Harter was born March 31, 1968, in Portsmouth, VA, the son of Richard & Dorothy Knight Harter. Following high school graduation, Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was trained as an emergency medical technician and certified as a mechanic. Rick was Baptist by faith.

Outdoor adventures, motorcycles, and rock 'n roll topped the list of favorites for Rick. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and reading. His genres of choice were science fiction and stories of survival & outdoor adventures. Big guy with an even bigger heart…Rick cared for the least of these leaving a lasting impression on the hearts he touched.

Survivors include his children, Niki Harter Powell (Lance) of Bainbridge; Stephanie Harter Malcolm (Allan) of North Dakota, and Rebecca Harter also of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Bentley, Brody, Leila, Rylee, and Isabella; and his sister, Debbie Harter. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
