Rita Cleveland Holt

Mrs. Rita Cleveland Holt, 73, of Monroe, GA, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.

The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com.

Mrs. Holt was born in Bainbridge, Georgia, the daughter to John Sam Cleveland Sr. and Mary Martha Jane Cook Cleveland. Mrs. Holt worked as a Material Handler for Thomas Betts for over twenty years and later retired as a Detention Officer from the Decatur County Jail in Bainbridge, Georgia. Mrs. Holt attended the Bethlehem Church Oconee Campus in Bishop, Georgia.

Survivors include her children, Darren Holt and his wife, Karin, of Tallahassee, FL, Mendy Chambers and her husband, Alex, of Jefferson, GA, and Kimberly Holt of Monroe, GA; her son-in-law, Justin Furney of Monroe, GA; her siblings, Sue Smith, Sandra Sirmons, Carolyn Hilliard, and James Cleveland; her sisters-in-law, Diana Cleveland and Janice Cleveland; her grandchildren, Christopher Friend, Nicolette Holt, Logan Holt, Alexis Chambers, and Alli Furney; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Rose Nix and Kenleigh Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Holt; her brothers, Bobby Cleveland, Donnie Cleveland, and John Sam Cleveland Jr.; and her sisters, Libby Hatcher and Elois Grey.
