Sandra Lee Walker was born February 10, 1936, in Covington, KY, the daughter of Delbert & Florence Dahman Walker. After high school, she attended St. Luke's Nursing School in Jacksonville where she was pinned as a registered nurse. Sandy married George Winburn in 1960, and they made their home in Gainesville. Sandy retired from North Florida Regional Hospital Women's Center. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Sandy was a collector of "things" …what-nots that held special memories, antiques that needed "just a little TLC," and family stories she felt needed to be passed down to the next generation. She found value in items most others considered banal and believed that spending her Saturday mornings going from yard sale to yard sale was surely a slice of Heaven here on earth. Family and friends were the cornerstone of Sandy's life. Her idea of "the best day ever" involved a gathering with no particular agenda, just the company of each other. Nicknamed the Rhythm of 8th Street, Sandy thoroughly enjoyed being highly involved in neighborhood activities. Her other favorite pastimes included gardening, craft projects, sewing, fishing, and shrimping.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Laura) Winburn of Bainbridge and Brenda Dubose of Gainesville; her grandchildren, Will (Haley), Daniel (Jessalyn), Mattie (Mali), Tiffany, Taylor & Kyle; and her great-grandchildren, Madison, Skylar, Carolina, and Jeremiah. And her beloved nephew, Brian Walker.  In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George C. Winburn; her daughter, Cynthia Lynn Winburn Dry and son-in-law, Dan Dry; and her brother, Damon Walker.
