Shirley Adkins Stone

Shirley Adkins Stone, 67, of Bainbridge GA passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Shirley Adkins Stone was born September 9, 1956, in Portsmouth VA, the daughter of Marion James Adkins and Iris Eileen Adkins. After high school Shirley continued her education earning an associate degree and then forging a lifelong career in accounting and bookkeeping.

Shirley had a smile that would light every dark corner and a patient and loving heart. She shared her life with many beloved dogs and was an advocate for all animals. She lived all over the world as a child and had a wide and diverse love of music.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Cheatwood; her son-in-law, Eric Cheatwood; her precious grandchildren, Addison and Evan, both the loves of her life; her two sisters, Jo Eisen of California and Louann Whitehead of Nashville, TN; her brother, Michael Adkins of Humble TX; and extended family. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Black.
