Steve Creasey, 85, of Recovery, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026.

A memorial service will be held in Recovery at a later date. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV. Stephen Gary Creasey was born May 18, 1941, in Belle, WV, the son of Bill & Frances Harmon Creasey. He attended Greenbriar Military School and graduated from Dupont High School, Class of 1960. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and had a successful career with US Air for 31 years that allowed him to help people “fly” every day. Steve was a Christian by faith, a member of the American Legion Post 340, and active as a Shriner and Mason.

Steve lived a life marked by adventure, hard work, and a genuine appreciation for people. His career with US Air allowed him to meet all kinds of people from all kinds of places. He spent years in West Virginia, Rhode Island, and Ohio before settling in Georgia in 2006. Steve had a gift for striking up a conversation with anyone he met. A friend to all, he was always willing to listen and be present in the moment. There is no doubt Debbi was Steve’s person; from the moment they met, they were always together.

An avid outdoorsman and traveler, Steve enjoyed boating, fishing, flying, and seeing as much of the world as he could. He especially treasured an unforgettable cruise to Alaska, but truthfully, he was happiest wherever the road—or the wind—led him. He never needed much of a reason to pack a bag and head out on another adventure.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Debbi Creasey; his grandchildren Leslie & Stacey; his beloved dog, Piper; and his amazing circle of friends in Recovery. Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
