Theresa Morgan Bell

Theresa Morgan Bell, 86, of Brinson, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Rusty Morgan, Scott Morgan, Chandler Morgan, Bert Singletary, Ricky Faircloth, and Jamie McMillan serving as active pallbearers. Deacons of Spring Creek Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com. Theresa Morgan was born December 2, 1936, in Boyle, MS, the daughter of Ira & Juanita Collins Morgan. She was a graduate of Boyle High School and later earned a degree in education from Delta State University. She married Harry Tyson Bell, Sr. in 1956, and twenty or so years later they moved to Southwest Georgia. Theresa retired from Decatur County Schools. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Thirty-two years of a no-nonsense approach gave Theresa a lengthy list of lives she touched from Oaks Academy, Hutto Jr. High School, and Bainbridge Middle School. She loved her students and spent every day teaching them the ways of the world. In her off time, puzzles and fishing filled her days. Theresa's favorite gathering involved cooking and eating fish.

Survivors include her sons, Harry Tyson Bell, Jr. (Kathy) of Lake Seminole and Terry James Bell (Michelle) of Brinson; her grandchildren, Jessica, Alex (Lyndsey), and MaryAnna (Kebo); her great-grandchildren, Morgan Louise, Logan, Joshua, Norah, Keira, Brock, and Josey; and her brothers, James Lamar Morgan (Beverly) of Boyle, MS and Harris Mac Morgan (Hellen) of White, GA. In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Harry Tyson Bell, Sr.; her daughters, Linda Loyce Bell and Brenda Joyce Bell; and her grandsons, Greg Bell and Shawn Bell.
