William Gus Bodrey was born May 4, 1943, in Cordele, GA, the son of Oscar & Zelma Clark Bodrey. He dedicated many years to serving and protecting the people of his community with integrity and pride at various posts with Georgia State Patrol, retiring as a Corporal. William was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville.

William had a passion for cars. He loved everything about them, which sometimes meant traffic stops included lots of conversation. As an all-American guy, things like NASCAR, hunting, fishing, and farming rounded out his list of favorites. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Karen Roberts Bodrey; his children, Keri Greene (Tony), Caleb Bodrey, and Lisa Brown (Dean); his grandchildren, Mara & Carson, TJ, and Amanda & Mark; his great-grandchildren, Breanna & Brian; his great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Joshua, Chloe, and Claire; and a host of extended family. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings, Lee Bodrey, Marvin Bodrey, AJ Bodrey, Lela Harper, Faustene Whittle, Pauline Presley, Dorothy Ingram, and Lucille Holloway.

The Bodrey Family extends their sincerest gratitude to Georgia Hospice for their care and support.
