Yoshie Egashira Park

Yoshie Egashira Park, 91, of Bainbridge, formerly of Washington State, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025.

Yoshie Egashira was born September 27,1934, in Fukuoka, Japan. She grew up in a family who practiced Buddhism with three sisters whom she adored. Yoshie married Henry Park in 1963 and immigrated to the United States. Washington State was her home until 2022, and Yoshie enjoyed traveling the Pacific NW on the trap and skeet shooting trail.

She shared her culture with family and friends who especially enjoyed her cooking. Yoshie was certified in Japanese doll making as well as skilled in knitting and crochet. Her simple projects became treasures filled with love marking moments in time never to be forgotten.

Back in the day, Yoshie bowled strikes with confidence and reveled in the sound of pins dropping. Later she spent her time watching classics on television and playing Solitaire, which she never lost. Yoshie's favorite activities were centered around her grandsons, Chaz & Henry, whom she considered "watashi no me no ringo", the apples of her eye.

Survivors include her daughter, Marie E. Purdy and her husband, Paul; her grandchildren, Chaz & Henry; and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Yoshie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Park, Jr.
